QUIET RIOT Live
Like You’ve Never Seen Before

Don’t call it a comeback, a rehashing or a reunion of sorts; what you are witness to is the actual Quiet Riot you’ve come to know and love since 1983.

Since the untimely passing of front man Kevin DuBrow in late 2007, it’s been a topic of discussion in rock circles if in fact Quiet Riot could continue to exist as a band. As 2010 successfully proved, Quiet Riot, as the band you’ve known your entire rock life is very much alive and well.

Scheduled to perform throughout 2011, the loss of what people often consider the trademark to Quiet Riot, the voice, has had little effect on what fans love about Quiet Riot’s live performance. It’s the music! In the spirit of Kevin’s performances that were as big on a stage in front of 200 people as it had been on stages in front of 45,000 people; members of Quiet Riot are providing new fans as well as fans of old with the live performance that inspired dozens of the world’s most well known rock acts of the 80’s and 90’s mainstream rock era.

Throwing the dice with the full support of DuBrow’s beloved mother, original founding member and drummer Frankie Banali set out in 2010 to reassemble Quiet Riot. His first calls were to bassist Chuck Wright, who’d been in and out of the band since the early 80s (he played on the studio version of “Bang Your Head (Metal Health)”), and Alex Grossi, Quiet Riot’s “road” guitarist since 2004, as well as songwriter on two tracks on Rehab.

When it came to choosing a lead singer, Banali said he wanted someone whose voice would “do justice to Kevin DuBrow, Quiet Riot and the fans.” The drummer acknowledged that DuBrow cannot be replaced, “but,” he said, “I can continue the legacy of Quiet Riot in the best possible and most musically respectful way. The way to do that is by making sure it sounds like Quiet Riot, so the vocals have to be spot on and true to Kevin's vocal performances.” The job went to singer Mark Huff, a seasoned pro with Van Halen tribute band 5150. Banali had seen his videos (a popular way of finding musicians these days), and the next thing you know, the stage was set for a Quiet Riot comeback. With a list of dates and performances passed and an Australian tour just weeks away, long standing drummer Frankie Banali is carrying on the legend of Quiet Riot with every bit of verve and gusto that has brought the band this far.

So what can an attendee expect from this line-up? If the reviews online have anything to say about it, they can expect to see the energy of MTV style hard rock from the era of long hair, riff rocking and hard driving drumming that made a generation of teens rebel against their parents, their school and their authority figures in the way only true rock and roll can provide! What you have is the true representation of what Kevin DuBrow helped create by assembling the band in its infancy and writing songs that will live in infamy. You have what is Quiet Riot…on a mission…..and performing live on “The Family Credit Union Main Stage” at Great River Days July 30, 2011.

Opening for Quiet Riot that evening will be “Seven Shy” from Muscatine. As the inaugural winner of the 2009 GRD Battle of the Bands, these five musicians have a regional fan base, and have continued to grow in both popularity and showmanship in what can only be described as a quintessential rock band. “Seven Shy” features guitarists Bob “the ace” Gilchrist and Tim Truitt, backed up by bassist Scott Griffey and drummer Bryan Neipert. Fronting the vocals is Jeramy Cantrell, who leads the band through a range of classic rock from .38 Special to Ozzy, with the occasional detour into pop music or even an impromptu guitar solo…just to keep the crowd guessing what will happen next.

Joining “Quiet Riot” and “Seven Shy” on July 30 will be the hottest punk rock band on the West Coast, “Hear Kitty Kitty”. Since forming the band in early 2009, Hear Kitty Kitty has grown to become the talk of LA, regularly performing at the best arenas and clubs in the City Of Angels.

They quickly completed their first 11 song CD (Tails from the Alley 2009), and promptly embarked on their first U.S. tour in the summer of 2010.  Opening for bands such as Teenage Bottle Rockets, Drowning Pool & Buckcherry, they made many fans and memorable experiences along their way across the nation.

This year in 2011, “Hear Kitty Kitty” began a new working relationship with music producer Dito Godwin (No Doubt).   After signing with EFM/Bungalo/Universal Music, “Hear Kitty Kitty” recently released their first video/single called“Moody”.  Another US tour is in the works in support of their next release “Find My Own”.

Members Nikita La Tijera (Vocals), Tuesday Cross (Bass) , Jonny Kat (Guitar), and Jodi Joy (Drums) are super stoked on the future of Hear Kitty Kitty, and are anxious to perform at Great River Days this July.
