GRD “Battle of the Bands” voting period ends July 4

 “Final Five” performers to be determined by the results

There are just two weeks left to vote for your favorite band on the GreatRiverDays.com website, the results of which will determine the “Final Five” bands who will perform for $3000 in cash on July 29 at Muscatine’s GRD concert.

Event sponsor KCQQ Q106.5 FM will be focusing attention on the 14 bands entered over the closing 2 weeks, and will announce the public polling results on July 8.

The GRD “Battle of the Bands” concert is the only one of its kind, where the general public not only chooses the finalists, but decides the winners by ballot the night of the show. When combined with the record purse money at stake, the results are the best homegrown music concert in the region…and the most prestigious to win.

Frequent updates will be posted on the GreatRiverDays.com website for up to the minute running results of the polling. “There are many people who have waited to cast their ballot until the contestant entry period was over…and based on past history, the vote standings will change daily in the last two weeks” commented event co-chairman JJ Koehler. “Right now, all the bands are within that undecided voter margin, and the difference between third and tenth in the current rankings is less than 40 votes, so it really is too close to assume that any one band will or will not make the Final Five. Last year, almost 3000 votes were cast, but the final results were so close that every vote was important in the end” he concluded.
