Great River Days Battle of the Bands just gets bigger!

The number of confirmed bands has grown over the past week, and through social network websites such as Facebook and My Space, excitement is brewing for another great homegrown music concert at GRD, July 30 in Muscatine.

As of late Friday, (June 11, 430PM) the count is now 17 bands from three states, vying to make the Final Five through fan voting on the GreatRiverDays.com website. The top five vote getters will be invited to perform for $2250 in cash on the Main Stage in Riverfront Park.

Three of the bands listed are 2009 finalists, and are joined by some serious new bands with equally impressive credentials of their own. GRD encourages you to go to the BOB home page, and click on the “Preview Bands” link and check out the GREAT music on the groups’ webpages.

Band nominations and entries are accepted through June 21, with fan voting running until Midnight, July 5. The Final Five will be announced live on event sponsor radio stations 97X and Rock 104.9 on July 9.
